Description This two-day CPD explores how drainage-style massage techniques can be used within modern holistic practice. The course focuses on softer treatment work, lighter pressure and the relationship between the nervous system, breathing, movement and fluid circulation. We’ll discuss how modern lifestyles can contribute to feelings of puffiness, swelling, heaviness and discomfort within the body, and how slower bodywork approaches may help support relaxation and comfort. Throughout the weekend we’ll explore: the lymphatic system and fluid movement breathing and diaphragmatic movement nervous system regulation postural and sedentary stagnation treatment pacing and pressure consultation and contraindications scope of practice aromatherapy integration hydrolats and supportive botanicals Students will learn a full body treatment sequence incorporating: gentle drainage-style techniques directional skin traction abdominal and respiratory work facial drainage techniques breath-led bodywork adapting treatments for different client presentations We’ll also discuss where this style of treatment fits into modern holistic practice and why many clients seek treatments to help them feel: less puffy or swollen lighter within their body more comfortable after travel or long working days supported during stressful or hormonal periods rested before holidays, weddings or events As part of the training we’ll explore essential oils and hydrolats traditionally used within restorative and drainage-focused treatments, including botanicals often chosen for: feelings of heaviness or puffiness respiratory support relaxation circulatory support post-travel recovery nervous system settling The course combines practical hands-on training with discussion, observation and treatment adaptation for real-life clinical practice. Therapists should always work within their professional training and insurance requirements. Booking and Cancellation A £50 deposit secures your place on the course and covers the cost of materials prepared for each student. This deposit is non-refundable. If you need to cancel your place, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations made more than 1 month before the course date may transfer the remaining balance to a future course, if space is available. Cancellations made within 1 month of the course date cannot be refunded, as materials and course preparation will already have been arranged. If The Well School needs to cancel or move the course for any reason, you will be offered either a full refund or the option to transfer your place to a future date.
